How to Conquer
Tuesday’s Reading: Isaiah 42 & Revelation 12
- Isaiah 42:15&16, I will lay waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn the rivers into islands, and dry up the pools. 16 And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.
- Revelation 12:10&11, And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
We Christians are conquerors over sin, death, and temptation because of the awesome power of God. Because God is Conqueror and we are in Christ that means we also are conquerors. But that does not mean we are passive. We have the word of our testimony that must go forth. We must give testimony to our faith in Christ. How do we give that testimony? We love Jesus more than our lives to the point of death.
